LINCOLN — The 2024 “Coolest Things Made in Nebraska” contest is now down to just four products and reaching its limit.

Thousands of votes cast in round two of bracket race lead to these semi-finalist and its Nebraska manufacturer:

automatic feed truck, ALA Engineering, Scottsbluff. According to the creators, the prototype is a standard feed truck that, with some adjustments, is equipped with a sensor system that combines human supervision with autonomous technology.
Oak Barrel Aging Lord of OrdScratchtown Brewing Company, Ord. The company calls the beer a seasonal offering brewed each winter, and this special barrel-aged version uses bourbon barrels from the Midwest Barrel Company.
toilet paperOutlook, Omaha, Nebraska. The company says it is the largest employer of the blind and visually impaired in Nebraska and the seven-state region, with machines that allow employees to produce paper products at 25 miles per minute.
valley center pivotValley Irrigation – Valmont Co., Valley. The creators say their irrigation machines are used in more than 90 countries, helping growers increase food production while conserving natural resources.

All Nebraskans are invited to vote. Each voter can only cast one vote per contest and round.

Now in its third year, the competition has become a fun and increasingly popular way to draw attention to the state’s manufacturing industry and provide businesses with a platform to showcase their products, said Chamber Chief Operating Officer Mike Johnson. platform.

Sponsored by the Nebraska Manufacturing Alliance and the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and Industry, winners will be announced Oct. 29 at the chamber’s Manufacturing Summit in La Vista. The top 16 players in the championship have been invited to showcase their products at the summit.
